My Fitness Journey

When I turned 18, I became very sick with a rare disease, so sick I lost all the muscle in my legs and could not walk on my own. I had to undergo intense surgeries and breathe with the aid of intubation. It was in my recovery from this terrible thing that I discovered fitness relieved my mental stress and rebuilt my strength. Fitness renewed my sense of well-being and self-confidence. In pushing myself to become healthier and stronger, I found myself striving for goals harder than ever before and taking joy in overcoming challenges in all areas of my life. Fitness changed my relationship with food for the better, improved my daily habits and routines. I will now always be grateful for my body and what it has done for me, as well as how it has shown me how truly strong and resilient the human body, mind, and spirit are. My body does not deserve me fighting it, and neither does yours. You deserve your healthiest life too.

Career Start

I do what I do to help other people, like me, make their life better with exercise and transform their life for the better. After becoming a certified personal trainer in 2007 I started working at the YMCA and built my education around TRX, kettlebell, and barbell training. Through coaching people in one-on-one sessions, teaching group classes and leading educational workshops, I found fulfillment in making people’s lives better through exercise. Learning as much as I could, I earned my Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist certifications and most recently became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the NSCA, the leading organization in the field of exercise science. With a deep understanding of human anatomy, movement, and physiology, I can make the best plan for you as an individual to succeed at achieving your fitness goals.
